Won’t you be kind When you say goodnight to me? I’ve had a wonderful time. Tonight was so magic And it would be tragic If all of this wonder were rendered asunder. So often we find That our dreams are not to be. I want to keep what I find. So be careful what you say Before you take my heart away... Won’t you please be kind? Won’t you be kind When you say goodbye to me? I’m not as strong as I seem. Farewells can be breezy But don’t leave me queasy By acting like parting’s a little too easy.
