Into the Virtual World Together

Roxanne and her online sweetheart Minotaur were the lead characters in our drama, which was originally going to be a computer animated movie about life in chat. Here they agree to "meet" for the first time in a virtual nightclub called the Slaughterhouse. A virtual nightclub needed a band, and that's why Nellie and the Drummers were created.
Voices done in Narrator 1.0. Again, the computer generated voices were deliberately left raw, because I wanted to create the effect of people speaking into their computer, having it be translated to text, transmitted to the recipient, and converted back to speech with an "appropriate voice."
The Cybertown instrumental was the first major piece we composed for the computer. As is true for all the Nellie material, nobody played these instrumental parts. I "hand-drew" all the music on the piano-roll screen of a software sequencer, and later tweaked it all, manually adding things like portamento, vibrato, dynamics etc.
The composition owes a lot to the works of Frank Zappa.
